Midsomer Murders is back on tele.
YAY!!
Try it tonight. It is about an English country town which is very pretty but where you would not want to live because someone gets murdered every week. Sometimes several people get murdered. And Inspector Barnaby and his trusty assistant catch the baddies everytime - usually within two hours. He also has a daughter, Cully, who is an actress, though she ran away from Hollyoaks to live in Midsomer so she can't be very bright because people die - a lot. Oh and a wife, but she is a bit dull.
PLEASE!!! dont tell my wife!!
It's great innit ?
The body-count is proportionally inverse to the couple of bumbling brain cells it takes to solve whodunnit...
The population of Midsommer isn't stable enough to have any worthwhile demographic data...
*sneaks off to get popcorn and slippers*
bit of a busmans holiday..i wish i was allowed to do what he does and not break all the rules
I love that even though in every episode it's never the first person they think might have done it they still accuse them for dramatic effect. If only they could hang on and realise there's still 45 minutes to go they wouldn't look so dim.
When we drive through The Midsommers we always take care to lock all the car doors. ![]()
fiddle I missed it but I will watch it another day
Oh it was good. Other than Soy's love-interst, Troy, turning up, lots of people got murdered and Cully got married.
Guilt not. I have a crush on Troy.
Oh, I'd forgotten Troy.
Oh, I've never forgotten Troy - but I missed the episode when he went missing. Was he murdered, by any remote chance?
He was promoted to Inspector and transferred to Middlesbrough at the end of the sixth series.
Midsomer has its own wikipedia page. Enjoy! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midsomer_Murders
Oh I like it too. But, it is a bit of a parody (though good undemanding telly). I have read all Caroline Graham' crime books (on which the series was originally based). They are really good - very very witty, and I would really recommmend them. Though the TV series is very relaxing (in a funny way) and watchable it does not do justice to the books.
Oooh, thank you for the top tip. I've read all PD James' books. I was looking for another crime author. I'll keep my eyes open when I'm next in Oxfam.
TODAY?!!
thank you! wouldn't have known xxxxxxxx
Ooh, my pleasure. I get the piss taken out of me relentlessly at home for this little love. So glad I'm not alone.
Note to self: stop saying 'Oooh' all the time.
